UV Adhesives

UV adhesives are ideal for bonding material combinations like glass and polymers or different polymers. They cure within seconds under UV light, enabling fast and scalable manufacturing. 

The adhesive's properties can be customized to meet specific needs, such as chemical resistance or mechanical requirements for different material combinations.

The UV Adhesive Bonding technology involves a glue that can be cured by light. This light is typically in the UV-A spectrum. At Bondus we have the possibilities to modify the adhesive in such a way that the properties are optimized for a variety of applications. A certain material combination, a desired curing wavelength or requirements on chemical- and thermal resistance can be reasons to formulate a customer-specific adhesive. 

The adhesive is carefully applied around the microfluidic channels on the bonding surface. Then, the surfaces are brought together and the adhesive is cured with light. This results in a permanent connection between the two parts. The resulting bond is an ideal seal over the whole surface and up to the channel edge. Since the adhesive is applied around the channels, the fluid contact with the adhesive is minimized.

Most importantly, the adhesive properties can be adjusted to ensure a perfect for every desired application. 

This technology is ideal for making connections between different materials (such as glass to polymer) or chemically resistant polymers (such as PP, COP). It works effectively across a wide range of sizes, from microfluidic parts with channels as small as 20µm to larger channels over 10mm. 

With large polymer parts, manufacturing ultra-flat material can be challenging. An UV-adhesive with low viscosity can have the additional benefit of filling some flatness inaccuracies.
